Steel River Playhouse is proud to partner with The Community Music School in Trappe, PA for a performance workshop of Godspell JR.  The cast will be a combination of students from both communities and rehearse twice a week starting October 16th and have 3 performances in January. This will be fully staged production with performance on the Steel River Playhouse stage!

For Ages 5th - 12th grades

Show Description: The original Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winner, Stephen Schwartz, and it took the world by storm.  Boasting a score with chart topping songs, Godspell JR. is a sensation that continues to touch audiences. A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

Two weekly Rehearsals Monday and Wednesdays: Start October 16th 

Mondays 6-7:30 CMS

Wednesdays 6-7:30 SRP

*All rehearsals will be at SRP starting December 6

There will be no rehearsals on 11/27, 12/25, 12/27, 1/1

Performances: 1/19 @ 7PM at SRP, 1/20 @ 2PM at SRP

1/21 @ 2PM Concert Version of Godspell, Jr at CMS
